The Executive Communication Pathway for Career Growth

This 12-week coaching program helps you tackle communication breakdowns that stand in the way of your career growth. Through goal-setting, real-world application, and expert feedback, you’ll develop the confidence, clarity, and executive presence necessary to communicate effectively, lead with influence, and position yourself for promotion and leadership success.

This Is Your Journey If..

  • You are a professional who needs to bridge the gap between your skills and executive-level influence.

  • You need to clearly and decisively defend budgets, timelines, and resource allocations to senior leadership.

  • You want to transition from a managerial role to higher levels.

This Is Not Your Path If...

  • You are looking for conversational English or grammar tutoring.

  • You are not ready to actively apply new communication behaviors in your current role.

  • You are not currently aiming for a senior leadership or executive-track position.

Program Overview

At the center of this pathway is my “Quiet the Inner Editor” strategy — a method for reducing the excess self-monitoring and cognitive overload that cause hesitationunder pressure. The result is what I call pressure-proof fluency: the ability to speak with the same clarity and composure you already have in your first language, even when the stakes are high.

Module 1

Communication Audit

  • The Bottleneck: Unconscious speech habits — like rapid speech, up-speak, and repeated filler words (“like,” “you know,” “um,” “ah,” “really,” “sort of”) – that quietly undermine your authority. They’re just habits, not skill gaps.
  • Strategy: Complete an assessment to spot your specific patterns, then practice targeted fixes: breath control and deliberate pauses to slow rapid speech, and simple substitution drills to catch and drop filler words and up-speak in the moment.
  • Outcome: Once you see these as habits rather than language flaws, they’re quick to break — giving you a noticeably more authoritative sound after just your first session.

Module 2

Sustaining a Coherent Explanation

  • The Bottleneck: Losing the thread partway through an explanation — starting strong, then drifting, repeating yourself, or trailing off before making the point, even on familiar topics.
  • Strategy: Learn a simple four-step way to organize your answer out loud: 1) say what you’re about to talk about, 2) make your main point, 3) back it up with one example or reason, 4) close with a clear takeaway. Practice growing your answers from two sentences to six, then to a full minute, using this same four-step order each time so you never lose your place.
  • Outcome: Speak on a topic for a full minute or more with a clear beginning, middle, and end – without over-explaining, repeating yourself, or losing your point along the way.

Module 3

Clarity & Conciseness

  • The Bottleneck: Rambling or over-explaining ideas and procedures, resulting in lost listener attention.
  • Strategy: Master the PREP framework (Point, Reason, Example, Point) to compress complex information into brief, digestible updates.
  • Outcome: Start using a framework that respects your listener’s time.

Module 4

High-Stakes Meeting Confidence

  • The Bottleneck: Hesitating to give opinions or deliver real-time feedback during meetings, often driven by the inner editor second-guessing each word before it’s spoken.
  • Strategy: Practice a few simple habits that help you respond quickly: a short thinking phrase to buy yourself a beat (e.g., “That’s a good question”), a pause instead of rushing to fill silence, and one or two ready-made openers you can reach for on the spot (e.g., “Here’s what I’d suggest…”).
  • Outcome: Speak up without hesitation and make an immediate, authoritative impression on listeners.

Module 5

Eliminating Non-Committal Language

  • The Bottleneck: Using passive, tentative language (e.g., “I think,” “we might”) that unintentionally reduces your authority.
  • Strategy: Replace weak words with decisive, high-certainty words and assertive verbal delivery.
  • Outcome: Speak with authority and inspire respect from your team and superiors.

Module 6

Listening to Understand Your Team

  • The Bottleneck: Missing important cues from colleagues and other teams, which leads to misunderstandings, friction, or problems you didn’t see coming.

  • Strategy: Practice simple listening habits: repeat back what you heard in your own words, ask a follow-up question before responding, and pay attention to tone, not just the words being said.

  • Outcome: Catch problems early, ease tension, and work more smoothly with other teams.

Module 7

Staying Calm Under Pressure

  • The Bottleneck: Freezing up, over-explaining, or visibly showing stress when caught off guard by tough questions or unexpected problems.

  • Strategy: Practice simple calming techniques — slow, controlled breathing and a go-to opening line — plus a short way to explain what’s happening and what you’re doing about it, so you always have something ready to say.

  • Outcome: Stay calm, stay in control, and keep people’s confidence in you when things go wrong.

Module 8

Engaging Presentations

  • The Bottleneck: Listeners losing interest or tuning out during presentations or updates.

  • Strategy: Use simple storytelling — a short example, a real situation, or a quick before-and-after picture — to make your information stick, instead of just listing facts.

  • Outcome: Keep listeners engaged and make sure your information is remembered and acted on.

Module 9

Championing Your Value at Performance Reviews

  • The Bottleneck: Relying on your hard work to speak for itself, leading to missed promotions and flatlined compensation.

  • Strategy: Build a metrics-driven record of your operational achievements and master corporate negotiation frameworks.

  • Outcome: Clearly articulate your financial and operational impact so management confidently backs your raises and career progression.

Module 10

High-Impact Feedback Loops

  • The Bottleneck: Dreading necessary corrective conversations with underperforming teams, or reacting defensively to criticism.

  • Strategy: Practice objective, performance-focused feedback delivery.

  • Outcome: Deliver feedback that optimizes team performance and absorb constructive criticism with poise.

Module 11

Conversational Authority (The “Human” Executive)

  • The Bottleneck: Using overly stiff, academic English or corporate jargon that alienates team members — often your inner editor defaulting to “safe,” over-formal phrasing rather than natural, direct English.

  • Strategy: Strip out outdated phrases (e.g., “please be advised,” “per our conversation”) and transition to active voice and authentic, natural phrases.

  • Outcome: Project the relaxed confidence of a leader who speaks like a human.

Module 12

Cementing Your Communication Identity

  • The Bottleneck: Reverting to old, communication patterns when stressed, leading to an inconsistent professional image.

  • Strategy: Define a concrete personal communication style and establish long-term speaking habits.

  • Outcome: Quiet the inner editor for good, so stress-proof fluency is your automatic career-accelerating leadership asset.
